In the tumultuous times we are living in, it is easy to be caught up in the negativity of this world. This world is so broken. The rulers and principalities of the air are roaming free under the curse of sin, and the effects are devastating. But the Word tells us to be thankful in all things and to bring all things to the Lord in prayer and supplication (Philippians 4:6). That is difficult at times. I get it. Maybe more than anyone else.
As I worked from the church campus today, I had a much needed quiet moment to just share with the Lord how thankful I am. And the thought that keeps coming to mind? How awesome our church is. You are great people. You are generous people. You are our people. There's a country song that says "These are my people, this is where I come from. It ain't always easy, but it's real." That's you. Thank you for being a community that embraces the ebbs and flows of life with grace. Many of you have grown with me as a pastor, with us as a family, and you have done so with grace and patience. Look at what the Lord has done!
It is a true gift that you embraced K with such love this past Sunday. It is a true gift that you are anxious to connect others in our community to Jesus. It is a true gift that you are Gospel-rooted. Keep it up! Isn't Jesus good?
Can't wait to see you tonight at midweek prayer meeting & Bible study. We have a lot to be thankful for... despite the wickedness of this world. Let's seek Him, serve Him, and love Him. Together.
Grace & peace,
TW
